The Company, incorporated in 1961, is into manufacturing of various telecom products viz., insulators of all types, separations, baffles, fixtures, condensers, lightning arresters, transformers and circuit breakers for voltages upto 330 K.V. and above.

BFW has executed several prestigious projects in almost all manufacturing engineering sectors including the automotive, auto components, general engineering, agricultural & industrial equipment etc. The never-ending list of clientele includes MNCs viz., Honda, Toyota, Cummins, L&T – John Deere, Simpson & Co., Maruti-Suzuki, to name a few.


Nature of work
The responsibilities included various pre-sales, sales & post-sales activities.
Pre-sales
- Capturing, analysis & evaluation of customer’s requirements.
- Conducting a need based technical study & proposing a suitable product from the product range
- Preparation of technical documents related to customer’s process requirements
- Performing cost studies of the proposal
- Submitting a complete techno-commercial Quotation to customer.Sales
- Release of Internal Work Order / Sales Order after order confirmation from customer
- Billing the customer after every milestone during the execution of order
- Preparing delivery documents and arranging for transportation
- Arranging for Invoice from Finance and forwarding the same to customer Post-sales
- Business generation through strategic marketing and sale of Spares, Services, Maintenance contracts.
- Total Spares Management activity including planning, procurement, inventory and sale of spares.

Initially, BFW was using DOS based MRP system. Later, it was upgraded to Windows based ERP system called “mybfw.com” that was totally developed in-house. I played an active role from the functional aspects while creating various screens related to sales viz., Inquiry, Quotation, Work order release etc.


3) Worked as Assembly Engineer with M/s Bharat Fritz Werner Ltd. (Unit-II), Bangalore, from November 1997 to August 1998.

Nature of work:
As an Assembly Engineer I was involved in assembly of General Purpose Machines (a.k.a. Milling Machines). These machines are of conventional type. The work included sub-assembly of axes drives, spindle drives, Gear-box etc., followed by final assembly and inspection of machine. It was during this period that I learnt much about manufacturing and assembly procedures and also about types of materials and their applications, which gave a substantial foundation for the future growth in Sales engineering.
