Team Introduction (Performance Engineering Practices)
The Performance Engineering Practices (PEP) Team is responsible for client & Micro services performance and architecture of Eurofins eLIMS Suite of applications. We have deep knowledge of the full application stack, running from server through network to the browser. We are experts at efficient use of device resources to enable our site to run in resource- constrained environments. We build client and server- side product infrastructure that minimize performance overhead of features on the website. We own high- visibility performance metrics such as TAT. These have a large and direct impact on over Eurofins labs which operate on 24×7 bases and perform 400 million assays a year. Our team is growing and we are looking for performance- minded engineers. The ideal candidate is comfortable digging into complex systems, identifying optimizations, and working with different feature teams to develop solutions. You will also drive the development of performance tools for investigation, regression tracking, and metrics reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
. Analyze performance bottlenecks, root cause issues, file defects and follow up with developers, documentation and other teams on the resolution.
. Analyze and tune the MS SQL queries, stored procedures and other objects.
. Able to derive meaningful insights from the collected performance data, articulate performance findings effectively with senior team members to evaluate design choices.
. Analyze and debug performance issues in production environments.
. Work with the engineering team during the implementation and testing phase to design optimal performing applications.
. Analyze performance measurement and analysis (Analyze results shared by Performance testing team).
. Optimize CPU, RAM and network usage for our resource- intensive website.
. Mentor developers on performance best practices.
. Adhere to performance measurement methodology to benchmark the average/ peak performance.
Requirements:
. Excellent understanding of MS SQL Server Design, Development, optimization and troubleshooting skills. (5 years)
. Strong analytical and performance tuning experience are must.
. Proficient in troubleshooting complex queries/ Stored Procedures.
. Troubleshoot and analyze the MS SQL profiler traces and Execution Plans.
. Troubleshoot and analyze MS SQL Logs and Schedule tasks.
. Good understanding of index maintenance
. Experience of development and troubleshooting in C# .NET and Entity Framework is required.
. Hands on experience on MS SQL Server profiler and Extended Events are required.
. Good Knowledge of design principles and patterns used in the enterprise product development.
. Good knowledge of the data structures and algorithms (CPU scheduling, Networking and Cache management).
. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
. Good knowledge of Disaster Recovery, High Availability and Log shipping techniques.
. Experience with distributed systems (filesystems, databases, storage, load- balancers etc.).
. Experience with systems performance analysis using techniques like CPU profiling, tracing by using standard Visual Studio profiling, Idera, ANTS, and App- dynamics tools etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
. 5 years of industry experience shipping production software.
. Knowledge of Database Design, optimizations and performance trade- offs.
