Job Description
The Senior Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst provides expertise to Technology Solutions Services (TSS) and other staff by analyzing and testing throughout a project lifecycle; identifying, reporting, and tracking problems in software, design, and business requirements; and by recommending and assisting with problem resolution. The incumbent provides technical leadership to staff and contractors working on major testing projects, leads various department activities, and mentors others as applicable.
Software quality analysts are responsible for applying the principles and practices of software quality assurance throughout the software development life cycle. Ensure projects and process control documentation is compliant with contract requirements, and objectives. Review software systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Provide or direct verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability.
Key duties/responsibilities:
Analyze, problem solve, document, and make recommendations that result in creative, cost-effective, and quality development and use of information technology.
Create a test strategy, analyze testing results, identify defects in software and problems in infrastructure, architecture/design, database design, and business requirements.
Provide assessments and recommendations for solutions to members of the project team.
Collaborate with developers on problem resolution and track problems to resolution.
Create necessary documentation consistent with Technology Solutions Services (TSS) department standards, communicate changes as appropriate, and develop systems training materials.
Assist quality assurance testers or contract workers with software quality assurance assignments.
Create and execute written test plans throughout project lifecycle that conform to testing standards, business requirements, and architectural/design standards
Validate that business requirements and design meet quality standards
Coordinate with the project team to define tasks, dependencies, and timelines for the testing efforts
Develop, maintain, and share detailed test cases with the project team and TSS managers during and after the project
Analyze, recommend, and validate the creation of the test environment needed for each project
Perform systems testing and coordinate and manage user acceptance testing
Provide timely and accurate status reports on testing activities to the project team, TSS managers.
Assists in ensuring the TSS department’s processes comply with established quality standards
Assists the Software Manager in measuring and monitoring quality standards and targets, reviewing and analyzing the project life cycle, and training TSS staff on quality assurance processes and systems
Lead or mentor TSS or contract staff in analyzing, researching, organizing, and prioritizing the testing approach for system changes.
Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies through reading, research, and participation in appropriate training opportunities.

Expertise in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Knowledge of Agile methodology.
Good to have Quality assurance certification.
Required Candidate profile
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or commensurate experience.
4 or more years of relevant software quality assurance experience.
Significant experience working and communicating effectively with information technology staff, Client users and vendors.
Expertise in testing methodology, developing test strategy, estimates and test cases.
Experience in unit, end-to-end, regression, performance, integration, and user acceptance testing preferred.
Thorough knowledge of the software life cycle and QA standards.
Significant working knowledge of QA methodologies and tools
Successful experience in the effective, efficient analysis and design of information technology solutions, including significant experience working and communicating effectively with client users.
